Short Story by Aldon Almeida of Grade 1 for Think n Ink Contest

A dog named “Ben”, did not like to go out to the market tied in chains. He did not like to be kept tied.

One day, he was went to the market along with his master just to see the market.

In the market he saw lot of masters who had come along with their dogs who were also tied in chains. He could see the same feel as that of his in their eyes.

Ben had thought he was a lone dog to be tied, but was glad to see so many dogs there, so he barked in a peculiar tone “bow, bow, bow”.

Hearing him bark, all the other dogs began to bark in the same tone.

Now, the market was full of dog bark.

Seeing all this, Ben was happy and to have so many friends who also expressed their discomfort in chains. All the masters let go their dogs for a while. The dogs raced together to the nearby open area and had great fun.

After which they returned to their masters, with a promise to meet up again soon.

Ben also came back and was always happy to go to the market.

Moral: Do not wait for others to express your discomfort, take the first step and you will find many to support you.
