Science / Heredity and Evolution

Science / Heredity and Evolution

You often think and try to relate your physical appearance and few traits with your family members isn't it? The traits or the characters are passed down from one generation to another by hereditary units called genes.

Gregor Johann Mendel the father of heredity, experimented on pea plant and established the principles of genetics. He concluded that F1 generation plants express the dominant trait, In F2 generation plants-recessive trait will reappear.

The principal of independent assortment states that the inheritance pattern of one trait will not affect the inheritance pattern of another pair.

Sometimes we wonder how life existed on earth. It was first by the formation af animao acids and other bio molecules. Charles Darwin was the first to formulate a scientific argument for the theory of evolution by means of natural selection and struggle of existence.

Advantages of evolution - basis for classification, tracing evolutionary relationships-fossils ,formation of new species, variation and human migration.

Also revise sexual reproduction in human and Sex determination in humans in this module.
