Health is wealth. In order to ensure smooth functioning of our body, we must understand health and disease. Basic conditions to maintain good health are balanced diet, personal hygiene, excerise and relaxation, no addictions, clean environment.
Disease is the disorder of the body. Disease causing organisms are called pathogens(bacteria, virus, fungi, protozoans).
Types of diseases-communicable - that spread from one person to other and non communicable diseases - that do not spread from one person to other
Causes of diseases - Micro-organisms(for communicable), malfunctioning of body organs, deficiency of nutrients, genetic factors, polluted environment, drug addictions are the causes for non communicable diseases
Teachers and parents usually ask us not to have roadside food. What is the reason behind it? We know that disease get transmitted -through air, water, physical contact and vectors. Thus eating roadside food is unhealthy as it can be contaminated.
Prevention of diseases - balanced diet, immunisation, personal hygiene
